Form and Space
How do you see the world as a product?? The question is see through whose eyes??
so, lets start with form and space. what exactly is form? Form can mean colour, texture, pattern, size, shape wheres space can be associated with claustrophobia, welcoming or even tight. In the eyes of an architecture student, we were taught, reminded to see things, everything in scales, -interior, building, premise, urban, region, global. It is interesting, intriguing..i mean its easy to say something but how do we apply this piece of knowledge? How do we see with the 3rd eye? how to view scale?
If you ask me, well its like when you are taking a photograph. what scale are you thinking of as the photographer? One can just take a 'say cheese' photo, or a 'candid photo' or he may evolve into something more editorial, lets say for Vogue, GQ...or even a campaign...A photographer might think, in what scale does he want portray his picture? Does he want dimension? lighting? what scale of photograph does he want to see?
i am now trying my best to see more form and space in what i see. I try to see space, perspective, dimension with my eyes, thinking of angles. Thinking of the scaled of colour that can change the ambiance of a building, the scale of texture that can make my clothes more appealing, the scale of design tat can be aplied into architecture making it more interesting...scale. as an aspiring photographer, space and dimension is vital. Having space in your photos can evoke a feeling of dimension, layer. scale too is important to an architect as he has to be firm of the scale of the building he intends to design-the purpose of it, the venue, the budget, the shape.
thenm how do we see the earth? can we see it as a product> A product of who??? God??/1b wanted us to think deeper, thinking the earth as a product of humans themselves, thus raising issues such as iatrogenocide and again 2012 .
inatrogenocide means accidental killing or treatment caused by medical officers, doctors etc.
based on this website, interesting i say topics are issued. raising the issue of iatrogenocide as a way of exterminating the human population as the Earth can't sustain the blooming population. the write also sees this epidemic as a global holocaust,
Among the controversial quotes are:
'Murder Or Mistake?'
"But how many times does a mistake happen until it's not just a mistake anymore, but negligence?"
After all with the right equilibrium of space and form in architecture, the end product can give the feeling of privacy, intimacy and thus homes can be built instead of mere houses.
1B even views the world as a product of humans themselves claiming that due to the fact that earth cant sustain everyone. there is an action of mass extermination of human beings . The interesting part is that these ways of extermination includes-war, global epidemics, and also introgenocide. he views that the world i being controlled by am exclusive family.
thats his point of view, to me, the earth is the product of God. As a Christian, i believe in His word. Science may not be able to prove everything but my belief is due to i hav whitenessed the great things the blessings he provided to me and my family-making us closer together and blessing us through the way. This is what i believe in. I believe in God.
another point of view is that, i also agree that the Earth is humans' own product. Pollution, sickness, killings, war....these are all the consequences of our own actions. the 7 deadly sins contribute greatly to this. Humans(actor) selfishness(intention) to earn more money has led them to break the rules and destroy Mother nature(act) thus owing to the destruction of the Earth(product).
form and space. I learn not see just mere form(bentuk) space(ruang), i now learn to see form and space in a different scale. I learn to see and awknowledge various sides, forms of a situation or incident, I learn to not follow blindly, but to find our way

2012-surrvival kit-Rob Bast
mr 1b has always been prompting us to think outside the box, think outside Malaysia, outside Hollywood and into a deeper, darker world. In this case, he introduced us to 2012. As we al know. 2012 is a phenomena whereby it is believed tat on december 21 2012, a disaster would occur wipe out the human population.
Its possibility?? NO...(in my opinion)
I mean how can we just believe this disaster based on a Mayan calendar. I undertsand the Mayan were once a great nation but were mysteriously wiped out. These had sparked debates and the point of view bt Rob Bast is seemingly interesting.
Originated from NZ, this writer like to pick on interesting topics: such as unicorns and evolution. And from his theory he debated on the lack of evidence and those who trust their instincts. He cleverly depicts a scenario where a group of person witness a muder and knows the muderer. but the muderer manages to escape. years later, the group of people were dead but their children recognize the muderer. In this case, can we charge the muderer? Nope, as there is ni oure physical eveidence displayed.
Bast believes tat the 2012 disaster may not occur but instead another catastrophy might occur. The fact is that, nobody knows what would happen in the future!!!
i certainly don't believe in tat prediction. Yes, there are loads of mysteries and doors to be unlocked but at this point, its still not believable.
however, i do hav to admit that i fond Bast's theories interesting. Unicorns, evoultion polar shifting??? cool..will see into it soon. mr 1b surface alot of topics to us,,but due to the ever-lasting assignments, ic ant seem to find more info..ohwell...will check out soon..
and ohya,,,i found tat in a survey, that amg those who believe in 2012 , 1st believe that the earth may be hit by an asteroid/comet...2nd-coronal mass injection form sun..3rd magnetic pole shift...(ohya,did u noe tat our poles are shifting>>?our magnetiv field has declined 10 % over the last 150 years and it is predicted tat the north pole wud shift 4rm canada 2 siberia in 50 years!!! GOsh!!!!
fine...sleepy nw...will found out more abt Bast and his theories...
i love food for though!!!!..

Assignment 1!!!!
All right, our 1st assignment is to create a series of pictorials of built environment, and thus explain the 6 elements involved: intention, act, product, people, principle , place.Lets start with picture 1:
Picture 1 is not exactly a building. However, its one of the booths we built ourselves for Malam1Apresiasi back in my matriculation days.since its also hand built, its still considered a building environment in my eyes. We Built the booth. environment, there are more booths surrounding it. Straight to the point, i see:Intention: To build a booth, in this case a Chinese Art inspired booth in order to spread the beauty of the Chinese culture to our other friends ranging from different races and cultures. +its inspired by a fortress!
Product: Loads of effort was put into it. Just like a mother after labour, her baby is born. In this case, our 'baby', our virtual baby is given life! and its an achievement. A product is something that we can be proud of , that represents our hard work and dedication put into it.
People: though there are no people to be seen in this picture, the people represents the people visiting the exhibition and also the people involved in the exhibition. Its not mere just the visitors.
Place: The exhibition was held in a hall, thus a place!!!! Devan Dato bahaman at KMPh(kolej matrikulasi pahang)
Picture no.2 is my block! A2...its a built environment considering the fact that its built in a college.
Intention: to provide accommodation to the students . Further, there is also a cafeteria, thus its intended as a source of food too.
Product: ermm...the product in this case, i would say is the students.By staying at the hostel, they would have a sustainable and suitable studying environment and thus gain knowledge in the end.
People: open your eyes and you can observe one lad heading to the cafeteria, with his bag pack on. Thus people are definitely involved, after all, its a hostel meant to be tenants, cleaners, felos.
Place: of course there is a place, its a hostel after all for people to stay when they are studying away from their hometowns. Thus, a place is surely involved.
3rd picture:Lost World of Tambun located at my hometown !!!! IPOH!!! yoohoo..kinda miss Ipoh..ohwell..
Intention: To provide fun and laughter, recreation, family bonding to the residents of Ipoh!!!! to provide an enjoyable time for everyone going there. basically like any other recreation park, its just a building environment to allow us to let loose.
Act: People are playing water, splashing around. thats where the fun comes from, playing!!!
People: Hello??? a recreation park without people??? excuse me??? so take it as many people..! especially during holidays.
Principles: Hmm....i cant see it..having fun after all means gaining freedom? thus, why stick to rules??? maybe the rules of the pool??maybe certain depths cant be reached by children with certain height??
Place: Lost World of Tambun located in IPOH!!!! a water resort !!! that sums it all
4th picture is my Secondary school: SMJK Sam tet.
Intention: to provide education and from the picture, the field is for games and sports, and behind, the orange building is in fact IPoh parade-shopping.fun!!!! so in this pic, there is
intentions!!!!
Act: Students playing football, having a great time.
Product: Like the previous photo, fun is gained and its thus the product! erm...a school also provides education wheres the shopping complex satisfies basic necessities.
People: erm..in the school: students, teachers, staff,. For the field, maybe the school PE teacher? and for Ipoh parade?? shop lots...with business operators!
Principles: For the match, rules are followed. in the school, rules and regulations are enforced.
Place: Ipoh..in the town where 3 places exist harmoniously
elements seen clearly: People, place,Principles, Intention., product, act!
